The Giver

I have just finished reading "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," (which has a very good and suprising ending/ I highly reccomend it/ YOU SHOULD READ IT!) and I will now begin reading "The Giver." This is the first book that I'm reading for this project that I have no idea what it is about. I just know from seeing the cover before that it involves an old man. I'll show you what the cover looks like:
